TFCC Residentials Core Values:

- To promote independent-thinking cricketers (ITCs)

- To encourage smarter cricketers - Based on traditional values with a modern coaching approach
- To instil the values of cricket & being good people
- To encourage increased self-awareness
- To promote self-reflection in players
- To coach at a younger age, what we believe is missing across the pathway delivery
- To learn to be the best coach of yourself
What to expect on the course:

- An independent professional-style environment

- Chance to be coached by ex-international and first-class cricketers
- Level 3 & 4 lead, specialist, and guest coaches
- Introduced to mindset, game plans, preparation, routine, and recovery + more
- Personal development plans (in your reflection booklet)
- Video Analysis (introduction to and, where appropriate)
A few things to note (as players and parents):

At TFCC, we actively encourage and promote independent learning, self-reflection and critical thinking throughout the residential experience. Reflection tasks will take place multiple times daily following sessions, with players encouraged to record thoughts, learning points and action plans within official course booklets or personal notebooks.

All attendees are encouraged to keep their notebooks with them throughout the week, allowing for ongoing note-taking, observations and reflection. Players will also have opportunities to have reflections signed or countersigned by members of the coaching team, with additional comments and feedback added where appropriate.

Residential Reports:

New for 2026, we have introduced a two-sided Player Feedback Form. This combines player self-review alongside coach observations and comments, reflecting attitude, effort, engagement and performance across the various sessions delivered during the week.
Please note that there is no formal emailed residential report provided following the course.

Firstly, this does not align with the ethos and learning environment we aim to create. Secondly, coach time is prioritised towards observation, interaction and coaching during the residential itself, rather than producing written reports away from players.

Instead, players are encouraged to take ownership of their learning by explaining and presenting their key takeaways, reflections and areas for development to parents, guardians and coaches following the residential. We believe this process forms an important part of developing greater understanding, communication skills and long-term learning habits.

Feedback is delivered constantly throughout the course — on the field, during reflections, in meetings, and through informal conversations with staff and coaches. Players are responsible for recording, collating and countersigning their own personalised feedback booklets throughout the residential. Year after year, this has proven to be one of the most effective and impactful learning tools for players attending our programmes.

Expectations & Course Environment:

TFCC only accepts serious cricketers with an elite attitude and approach. Effort levels, professionalism, open-mindedness and full buy-in are non-negotiables throughout the week.
As part of creating an immersive performance environment, players will be expected to take ownership of themselves and their learning. This is not a school environment, and attendees will not always be given constant structure, reminders or directives. Players are expected to think independently, take responsibility and make good decisions throughout the week.
We believe this approach better prepares players for future cricket environments, including county pathways, academies, representative cricket, tours and professional environments.

Parent Communication & Pastoral Expectations:

To help align expectations, please do not expect regular calls, texts or emails updating you on “how your child is doing” throughout the residential from TFCC staff.
This is intended to replicate a genuine performance environment, where players are encouraged to manage themselves professionally and communicate with parents directly where needed — as would be expected on performance tours, pathway programmes and representative cricket environments.
Naturally, should any significant welfare, behavioural or medical concerns arise, parents and guardians will be contacted appropriately by staff.
