Tom Flowers Cricket Coaching - Our Story
Tom Flowers Cricket Coaching (TFCC) was founded in 2015 with a clear mission – to provide high-quality, accessible & decentralised cricket coaching across Leicestershire, Rutland, and the wider East Midlands. What started as a local coaching initiative has grown into the UK's leading cricket coaching organisation, now working across multiple counties and supporting thousands of players every year.
At the centre of TFCC is its founder, Tom Flowers. Tom developed through the pathway at Leicestershire CCC as a top-order batter, transitioning into the professional environment, remaining on the fringes of the first team while completing his BSc at Loughborough University. During this time, he also played first-class cricket for Loughborough MCCU. At 22, Tom made the decision to transition into full-time coaching. He went on to become Head of Cricket at Clayesmore School for two years, followed by three years in the same role at Sherborne School, where he also represented Dorset CCC in Minor Counties cricket.
In 2021, Tom achieved his ECB Level 4 Master Coach qualification, alongside respected figures such as Marcus Trescothick, James Treadwell, and Phil Simmons. His journey also includes international experience with the ECB Disability programme before committing fully to building TFCC. Today, Tom is an ECB Level 4 Specialist Coach and an ECB-approved Coach Mentor, continuing to support the development of both players and coaches.
Since its inception, TFCC has grown consistently year over year. The programme now works with over 3,000 players annually, delivering 36+ camps each year, operating across 6 counties, and partnering with 30+ clubs and schools. This growth has been built on a simple philosophy — professionalism, consistency, and a genuine passion for developing players.
A key part of TFCC’s journey has been the development of its Elite Residential Programmes, which have now been running for over 7 years. These programmes have welcomed 1000+ players from 17+ countries across four continents, creating a truly international environment for player development. In recent years, demand has continued to grow, with multiple sold-out residentials and record participation numbers. TFCC has also held links with The Duke of Edinburgh since 2020, and recently, as a reward to recognise the efforts with supporting the programme over the years, Tom has been invited to Buckingham Palace in June 2026.
Introduced in 2019, TFCC has now completed six annual Desert Springs Tours, providing young cricketers with an opportunity to tour like a pro cricketer and play abroad at an ICC-approved venue where county cricket clubs and international teams train.
Alongside this, TFCC continues to evolve its offering. In 2025, new programmes (Advanced Clinics and Masterclasses) were introduced to support older and more experienced players, providing high-performance opportunities.
The organisation has also expanded its reach beyond the field. The TFCC Podcast has featured in the Top 20, while its YouTube channel continues to grow, connecting with a wider cricket audience and sharing coaching insights globally.
Partnerships have played an important role in TFCC’s development over the years, with collaborations including counties, schools, and clubs such as Nottinghamshire CCC, Northamptonshire CCC, Lincolnshire CCC, Uppingham School, The Root Academy, and the University of Nottingham. The introduction of roles such as Operations Manager, Full-time administrator & Head of Women’s Cricket also reflects a continued commitment to growing the game across all pathways.
Behind everything is a team of highly qualified ECB Level 2, 3, and 4 coaches, with TFCC's full-time staff bringing over 40 years of combined coaching experience. Continuous professional development remains central to the organisation, ensuring players benefit from a modern, evolving coaching environment.
In 2025, TFCC marked 10 years of operations — a significant milestone that reflects both the journey so far and the ambition ahead. While the scale has grown, the core aim remains unchanged: to provide high-quality coaching environments where players can improve, enjoy their cricket, and reach their true potential, without losing Tom's fundamental beliefs of modern coaching with traditional values.
TFCC continues to build for the future — not by standing still, but by constantly evolving, refining, and raising standards across everything it delivers.

"TFCC is where modern coaching meets traditional values. Our professional staff are passionate about cricket coaching and committed to creating environments where every player can improve. We believe development comes from a balance of challenge, enjoyment, and consistency — and that approach continues to guide everything we do here at TFCC. We are never happy to stand still and constantly look to seek out feedback, reviews, ideas and customer opinions in order to improve our offerings. Mediocrity is not accepted at TFCC, and we believe to coach in an elite way. Elite people are required who buy in to the TFCC way. That is the centrepoint of us – decent people."
