[email protected] Cricket Philosophy "I believe that a great coach is someone who is committed, energetic and inspiring, without losing sight of the enjoyment that there is to be had from the game. My coaching philosophy is based upon simplicity, hard work and enjoyment; something I feel very passionately about. I try to focus my coaching as much on tactical advice as technical, as I believe many young players need this knowledge much earlier than they are currently receiving it. I aim to combine this by actively encouraging individual and collective responsibility amongst players" - Tom Flowers, TFCC Director |

Cricket Philosophy
"I am very player-centric, focusing on a player's individual skills, needs and goals. I also take a holistic approach, and believe that, especially in young people, we are developing players not just as cricketers but as individuals. Cricket should also be fun, and I emphasise effort, enjoyment and improvement over results. Success comes from consistent effort and strategic planning, not short-term fixes. I also believe in teaching players both the 'how and the why'. It is important that we instill real game knowledge into our players' approach to the game, so that they tackle any scenario on the pitch." |

Cricket Philosophy: "Enjoying the game comes first before anything so my main focus is to make sure everyone is having fun and enjoying the sport while learning at the same time. Understanding and coaching a player on there cricket skills is one thing but understanding there emotional needs and how they work is just as important. I have empathy and an understanding of those that may struggle with certain situations particularly with those with special needs." |

Philosophy: "As a coach, my coaching philosophy centres on developing cricketers' understanding of the why behind their actions, rather than relying on repetitive drills to develop skills. I believe when players grasp the reasoning behind their decisions and reactions, they are much better positioned to be prepared for the demands of real match scenarios. My coaching approach is player-centred, aiming to make every session personally relevant and engaging. I try to create an environment where players feel confident to express their ability and take ownership of their learning. This mutual buy-in is central to my coaching, where players feel involved in the process, so they are more likely to take away something key from the sessions every week. Drawing on my experience across the coaching spectrum- from 1XI school cricket to grassroots levels, I am well-positioned to work with a diverse range of players and tailor my methods to their stage of progression. Ultimately, my goal is to develop thinking, self-aware and confident cricketers who can go and enjoy the game." |

Coaching Philosophy: “I believe that a good coach has the ability to identify how their cricketers best respond to feedback. Every athlete is different, I believe there is not a ‘one size fits all method’ to coaching and understanding the best way to connect with an athlete goes a long way to shaping their future within the game.” |

Cricket Philosophy: "I take a player-focused and analytical approach to coaching, using both observation and performance data to understand each player’s strengths, areas for development, and match behaviours. A key part of my coaching is learning from what has already happened — whether in training or matches — and using that to guide future improvement. I aim to help players recognise patterns in their game, make better decisions under pressure, and better understand their role in different situations. I place strong emphasis on game awareness, ensuring players understand not just how to execute skills, but why they are making decisions, allowing them to adapt in competitive environments. Ultimately, I value consistency, reflection, and long-term development, creating an environment where players enjoy training and drive their own improvement." |
