How long is the tour?
6 nights and 7 days. Specific timings are released approximately (6 weeks) out from the touring party leaving.
What sort of matches are played?
The tour will consist of a 2 Day game played in whites with a red ball, 2x 50-over games and 3x T20 games, all played in coloured kit with a white ball.
What is the accommodation, and how does the rooming work?
Accommodation is in apartment blocks on-site. Rooming is anywhere between 2-6 people, based on the facilities provided by the resort.
Boys and girls are in separate and segregated accommodation. Requests to share with friends/peers will be noted, but cannot be promised.
What can I expect to receive after enrolling on the course?
You can expect to receive a confirmation of booking (receipt) after the initial booking. You will then receive a joining email (6 weeks) out from the tour with specific instructions.
Pre-course suitability and quality control checks
It is standard practice for TFCC to request a call with applicants to ensure suitability checks are carried out for the course. This is to ensure both expectations are aligned and also for quality assurance purposes across the intake.
Food and dietary requirements
In line with our performance courses, all food is prepared fresh, wholesome and with a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as a protein, carbohydrate and healthy options at each meal.
TFCC will take all reasonable requests for any food/dietary requirements prior to the course. There is always a wide selection of foods at the resort to accommodate as many individuals as possible. Please note, whilst we can accommodate allergies, intolerances and religious requirements, we are unable to facilitate requests for 'preferences' of food.
Official tour clothing to purchase
This can be purchased via our website link. Please note that the clothing is an optional extra and not compulsory. All clothing must be ordered by July 1st. Orders will then be handed out at the pre-tour training sessions.
Early bird release and waiting lists
The Early bird waiting list will be available for sign up from November 1st, with residentials released around 21st November each year.
What happens in the evenings?
During the evenings, players have much-needed downtime/recovery time. They have full access to the resort's facilities, including the pool, paddle courts and golf course
Age groups and ability
The course is open to all 14 to 17-year-olds. We do, however, accept 18-year-olds who have toured with us previously, as well as 13-year-olds currently on a County pathway.
What supervision is there at night?
The TFCC team are highly experienced pastorally. All staff are trained both internally and externally, and have DBS and safeguarding qualifications. At all times, participants will have access to the pastoral staff.
What are the cricket facilities like?
Desert Springs Cricket is the leading facility in Europe, constructed to ECB standards and specifications and accredited by the ICC.
Can my child travel independently?
Any request for these must be made to [email protected] prior to (6 weeks) of the course beginning. Whilst all requests will be considered, we highly recommend that the touring party travel together and cannot guarantee anything outside of the official course start and end times.
What kit and equipment should I bring?
The full kit list will be sent out prior to the course in the joining email.
Can I watch my child playing?
As the tour is an Elite cricket environment, promoting independence amongst players along with a flexible schedule, we recommend for the benefit of the players that parents/guardians don't come and watch throughout the tour.
