It is recommended that parents do not attend the tour due to the elite nature of the environment, the purpose of the tour (promoting independence amongst players) and the flexible daily schedules we have. Players have the option to attend two pre-tour squad training sessions at The Rutland Cricket Centre. We recommend that all players attend at least 1 of the 2 sessions. These sessions prepare players tactically and physically and help the group bond before travelling.

The Desert Springs Cricket Tour is a 7-day, 6-night high-performance experience at one of Europe’s leading cricket destinations.

- Full board accommodation in high-quality resort apartments
- Use of elite cricket facilities: grass nets, centre wickets, training oval and strength & conditioning space
- Structured coaching from experienced TFCC Level 3–4 qualified coaches
- A full match programme:
- 1 x Two-day red-ball match (in whites)
- 2 x 50-over matches
- 3 x T20 fixtures
- Players also have free access to the resort’s leisure facilities, including swimming pool, gym, padel/tennis courts, beach volleyball and small-sided football areas.
Who is the tour for?
- The tour is designed for committed young cricketers aged 14–17.
- 18-year-olds may be accepted if they have previously toured with TFCC.
- 13-year-olds may be accepted if they are on a County Pathway or have attended a TFCC Elite Residential prior.
- All players must complete a suitability check via a registration of interest and a call with the TFCC coach before confirmation of place.
- This ensures each participant is ready for the intensity, expectations and self-management required on tour.
How are players supported pastorally on tour?
- Player welfare is a priority.
- TFCC staff accompany the group at all times and are fully DBS-checked and safeguarding-qualified.
- Pastoral staff oversee accommodation, meals, wellbeing and downtime.
- Cricket staff manage training, matchplay and performance support.
Are parents able to come and watch?
It is recommended that parents do not attend the tour due to the elite nature of the environment, the purpose of the tour (promoting independence amongst players) and the flexible daily schedules we have. We have found over the years that most personal growth happens when players attend independently.
What is the accommodation?
- Players stay in modern resort apartments sleeping 2–6 per unit.
- Boys and girls are housed separately.
- Rooming requests are considered but cannot be guaranteed.
- Apartments include shared living space, kitchen, multiple bathrooms and Wi-Fi.
Food and dietary requirements?
The resort provides nutritious, player-appropriate meals with a strong focus on:
- Lean proteins
- Fresh vegetables & fruit
- Carbohydrate sources
- Adequate hydration
- Dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, intolerances, Coeliac, Halal) can be fully accommodated if notified in advance.
- General preferences cannot be guaranteed.
What do the travel arrangements look like?
- The tour flies as a group, and this is the default expectation.
- Independent travel must be both requested and approved by Tom at least 6 weeks before departure.
- Final travel details are released in the joining instructions approximately 6 weeks before departure.
